The Thales Personal Security Module™ (PSM) utilises a smart card and “soft” hand-held smart card reader to provide equivalent functionality to the ubiquitous Thales Watchword™ product.
The PSM smart card provides a secure tamper-resistant engine for the generation of cryptographically based message authentication codes and challenge-responses pairs.
The PSM reader implements the human interface and is totally soft, with interface functionality defined fully within the PSM smart card.
The PSM is well suited to a business environment where multiple users can share the card reader whilst retaining their own secure and convenient smart cards for personal authentication.
