Salt SMS OTP provides a basic two factor authentication scheme suited to entry level applications or as a way of accommodating older non Java compliant handsets in an mCode or mSign based authentication strategy.
Salt SMS OTP implements virtual tokens within the centralized authentication service and distributes OTP’s or signatures generated by these tokens to users handsets via SMS. Unlike mCode or mSign, these codes appear as messages in the user’s SMS in-box and can be read without the need for a PIN.

In implementation, Salt Group provides an identical application interface to mCode or mSign functionality for the SMS OTP product. This enables a mixed fleet of handset types to be supported without significant application logic changes.
