It’s easy. The standard activation model is:
Step 1. Download the Salt mSign app from the app store.

Step 2. Scan a QR Code.
Step 3. Enter an Unlock Code sent to via SMS.
Step 4. Select a PIN to protect access to the app; or use a biometric (such as fingerprint).
That’s it.
